Noah Wheeler

I climb for the process - as a means to hone not just my physical strength, but how I move through life.

About >

Noah Wheeler is a young American professional climber renowned for his rapid ascent in the world of elite bouldering. Born on July 22, 2002, he began climbing at age 8 through a local gym's summer camp and youth team in Pennsylvania. Initially focused on indoor competitions, Wheeler transitioned to outdoor climbing in 2020, a shift that coincided with the cancellation of the Youth World Championships due to the pandemic.

Wheeler's outdoor climbing career has been marked by a series of impressive achievements. In January 2024, he repeated Sleepwalker V15/16 in Red Rock, Nevada, a problem first established by Jimmy Webb. Later that year, he climbed Insomniac V16 in Lincoln Lake, Colorado and made the long awaited third ascent of Defying Gravity V15. His most notable accomplishment came on January 1, 2025, when he made the third ascent of Return of the Sleepwalker V17, becoming the youngest person at the time to climb a problem of that grade.

In March 2025, Wheeler achieved the second ascent of Shaolin V17 in Red Rock, a problem established by Sean Bailey. He described Shaolin as requiring more self-mastery than any previous climb, emphasizing the mental and physical challenges it presented.

Beyond his climbing, Noah just graduated with his degree in political science, and he runs a youtube channel called Wheel Rock with his brother Ben, where he is filming and editing all of their content.

Wheeler currently resides in Colorado, where he continues to train and pursue new climbing challenges.
