Izzi Gomez

Don’t let anyone but you dictate what you can and can’t accomplish. I took an unusual route to the top. It was hard for others to see the path I had mapped out for myself, until I went out and accomplished it.

About >

Izzi Gomez was born into a surfing family on Anna Maria Island, Florida, where her grandparents still own the oldest existing surf shop in Florida. The Gulf Coast is where Izzi rode her first waves before she even knew how to swim. At the age of five, with her eagerness to pursue bigger waves and the competitive side of surfing, the family decide to move to Jupiter, Florida. This is where Izzi really began to fall in love with surfing and just being in the ocean. Izzi started competing in amateur surfing competitions, which soon segued into her becoming a five time World Champion on the Stand Up World Tour and a Pan American Games Gold Medalist.

Upon moving to California, Izzi decided to go back to her roots to take a stab at big wave surfing and ultimately work her way to the WCT. She currently splits her time living in Hawaii and California. Izzi is considered one of the “young guns” of big wave surfing. You’re sure to find her out at Jaws or chasing Mavericks during the winter months. She just won her first QS and she has secured her spot on the Colombian National Team with a goal to make the Olympics in 2024.
